In a world where many traditions are disappearing, Sabiba endures on the edge of survival — a living symbol of identity, pride, and resilience. Celebrated by the Tuareg people in the Sahara, Djanet (Algeria) and inscribed by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2014, it unites music, dance, and rituals preserved for centuries. Warriors clash their swords as women sing to tambourines, while children proudly raise their blades — proof that Tuareg culture, though fragile, is still alive. For me, it was an exceptional experience to witness and be part of this celebration.
