The Konyak tribe of Nagaland were once fierce warriors and known to bring back the heads of their conquered victims as trophies. With the introduction of Christianity and the mass conversion of the tribes this practice has ceased. The elder men of the tribe are now the last of the headhunters - pictured here adorned in body and facial tattoos (each tells a distinct story of the individual and their journey), ear piercings and with their old muskets/weapons in hand. It was a privilege to photograph them in Mon, Nagaland during the tribes annual spring festival. April 2025
