The enormous Moon-like Burren in County Clare in Ireland is one of the most striking landscapes in the world. The word “Burren” comes from an Irish word “Boíreann” meaning a rocky place. It’s a karst landscape of bedrock incorporating a vast cracked pavement of glacial-era limestone, with cliffs and caves, fossils, rock formations and archaeological sites. The landscape of the Burren has been shaped by geological forces for hundreds of millions of years. Magical place - unique and different.
