Captured in a secluded village near Pampallacta in the Andes of Peru, this photograph features the mother of the family engrossed in preparing a traditional dish. The shadows casting behind her, juxtaposed with the illumination streaming in from a side window, brought to mind the evocative ambiance found in classical Flemish paintings a style that particularly resonates in me.
