Street photography is therapy for my mind and body. When I find a place with interesting geometry and character, I return again and again to observe how we as humans interact with the space. Such was the case at this long outdoor staircase which connects two neighborhoods in Cordoba, Spain. I watched many people ascend and descend the stairs beneath the crosses, but when a priest came down inside the triangle of shadow, almost as if he was being chased or followed by the darkness, I made the image that spoke to me right before he came into the light.
