In the central and southern regions of Taiwan, there is a custom of worshiping rivers and streams, often referred to as "拜溪頭" (Giving Thanks to Heaven and Earth). Festivals dedicated to worshiping the rivers are held in the Da Jia River Basin and Da'an River Basin. Pigs are considered expensive and significant offerings and food in Taiwanese society. The preparation and offering of pigs for the purpose of worshiping the river reflect the deep reverence of farmers who depend on weather conditions for their livelihoods.
