The shokunin kishitsu (craftsman's spirit) is a bastion of the senses in the face of AI platforms: "Our senses guide us in sharpening a blade - the eyes, of course, and the smell and hearing“ (Terukazu Takamura, knife maker). There is something deeply human about these artisans creations: they are technically accomplished and at the same time authentically unique, reminiscent of hours spent with a brush or over a workbench. There is something in them that resonates with the Japanese passion for the beauty of imperfect, hand-made objects: the objects "patina".
