This photograph of a lily flower is an example of how our perception of an object can differ depending on how we look at it. It reminds us Escher’s artworks. Indeed, we might be unsure of the “direction” of the petal tips. Are they going inward or outward? The roundness of the flower and the flow of the petals also suggest a rotational motion. This makes a dynamic impression even though the image is still.
