Last Rays of Sunshine

Gran Canaria. Waiting around 30 to 40 minutes higher up in the mountains for the thick rain clouds to lift and sunset nearing I chose to abandon the wait and hope and descended to another spot I visited earlier. Upon arrival, this mood with the sunrays breaking through the clouds presented itself - slightly and constantly changing. I knew these type of rays will last for a few seconds not minutes. So I had to rush, no time to find a good and pleasing composition and setting up a tripod. The technical execution here is lacking too. Had to take what I got.

Born in 1979, I am an amateur photographer living in Switzerland in the surroundings of Zurich. In my spare time and when travelling I take joy in doing photography. Although I generally do not consider myself a very patient person, making pictures is often relaxing and calming and I can easily spend an hour or two in the same spot taking it all in, finding compositions, refining a composition and waiting for the light. I focus on landscape and cityscape photography. For quite some time now I feel myself more and more drawn to landscapes – where I am trying to find my masterpiece shot. ;-)
