Leopards are the most widespread big cat species, and the most elusive and hard to spot. I had the luck not only to find this one beautiful male, but to spend two days observing it always in the same spot. It had killed a springbok the night before the first encounter, so that it spent the following days close to his kill. This picture is from the second day, right after sunrise, when the leopard had a little drink before climbing on a nearby tree where he had brought the carcass overnight.
