This was taken on the Echizen Coast on the Sea of Japan. It perfectly describes the feeling of Yugen - a mysterious beauty that may seem otherworldly but is in fact rooted in the here and now.

I am a Buffalo, NY and Fukui, Japan based photographer. Having spent many years in Japan I like to incorporate Japanese aesthetic concepts like Yugen (mysterious beauty) and Shizen (nature, naturalness) into my photography.
