The photo of a withering dahlia tells in reference to Friedrich Hölderlin's essay "Das Werden im Vergehen" (Becoming in Dissolution) about the magic of the moment, where simultaneously demise and new beginning are expressions of a living whole.
I learned my photographic craft from the photographer and filmmaker Valentin Schwab. Over the last years I increasingly have abstracted my visual language. In my current work, I use abstract photographs to explore the representation of the subliminal, the ineffable, and the ephemeral.
