I was already on my way to the airport on the island of Madeira when I came through what I found to be an impressive cedar forest. The passing fog reinforced this. So I stopped at a convenient spot and grabbed my camera. This was finally the chance to use the creative technique of vertical swiping. I photographed a whole series with different intensities and exposure times. I also made multiple exposures where I zoomed into the image. This was ultimately the final highlight of my photo fishing trip to Madeira.

I am 54 years old and live in Seligenstadt, Hesse. For many years, I worked as a landscape gardener, where I was able to work creatively with nature. Due to tragic events, I can no longer pursue my profession, which gave me time to devote more intensively to photography. Initially, it was primarily while traveling and in nature that I discovered abstract and contemporary photography. With a camera, you can create beautiful, individual works of art; you just have to get involved. This doesn't happen at the push of a button, however; it happens intuitively, based on the situation.
