100 year old Yarrabah aboriginal Elder and Order of Australia recipient Alf Neal OAM with his 3week old great great grandson Kailan. A former cane cutter, bush lawyer and activist, Alf was a leader who fought for the 1967 referendum which resulted in Indigenous peoples historic recognition in Australia’s Constitution and awarded the ‘Medal of the Order of Australia’ for "Service to the Aboriginal community and the Referendum Campaign". As Alf passes his centenary milestone, Australia will vote again on National indigenous issues in the "Indigenous Voice To Parliament" 2023 referendum.
