I took this photo as part of my search for patterns in nature. During the pandemic I experienced an artist block. It was like my creative self had been switched off. After a while it bothered me so I would go out for walks in the London streets carrying my camera. That was when one day this dead tree trunk caught my eye. It made me think that the beauty of its pattern still shine long after the death imposed by the felling process that frequently goes on in this city.
