Spin Club Tapestry is an exploration of cultural and personal memory, inspired by the tradition of Spin Clubs in Northern Germany. By following the stitches of original fabric from my village, I follow a path through the lives of my ancestors, their layout of a perfect pattern and the mistakes they made. I connect the present and the past by re-imagining pieces of the embroidery. The patterns I have stitched myself into the paper represent fractions of memory. Sometimes I leave the stitching incomplete for others to envision their own path.
