A young bumblebee queen, freshly awakened, has settled on the ground, a queen without a court, but she already has her own colony within her. She is one of the few bumblebees to have survived the winter; she only flies for a few seconds and then rests for longer. The images show the queen resting between two short flights, the state of the being just awakened - her hunger, her beauty meeting momentary disorientation and confusion, her trembling, her gradual enlightenment. Stylistic means of implementation are long exposures with fill-in flash, blurring and standard exposures.
