Twenty years after my first trip,I traveled to Cuba to document the situation due to Covid-19.Over 90% of population had been vaccinated and the restrictionswerestillverystrong.Nevertheless, thecountry, whose primary activity derives from tourism, had thrown its precarious economy into a desperate phase. The crisis hit worse due to Russia Ukraine war with the lack of wheat.Years ago I could glimpse a veil of hope in their faces, now in their eyes,I perceived a veil of resignation and sadness.Only students, completely financed by theState, seemed tolook at the world with confidence.Cuba,Spring2022
Born and grew up in Italy, rooted in a background in Geography and a life spent traveling across remote regions of the globe my photography explores the quiet dignity of people and places far from the spotlight.Inspired by the Humanist photographers of the 20th century,I focus on everyday life, cultural narratives and the unseen impacts of mass tourism. As a documentary and street photographer,I use the camera as both a research tool and a means of connection capturing intimate moments,my work is an ongoing exploration of humanity, change and the fragile balance between preservation and progress
