Handmade carpet is one of the traditional professions and part of Iranian culture in cities like Yazd. Making handmade carpets in homes and family workshops involved lots of skills and customs, transferred from their ancestors, heart by heart. However, they got forgotten now because of modern workshops and machine-made carpets. This photo series depicts one of the very last family workshops and carpet masters. Masters checked for final touches before sending carpets to retailers in the Bazar by doing last stitches and cutting spare threads. Then, carpets were washed and left in the yard to dry
