Here are some photographs of two Italian cities usually overcrowded with people:Venice and Rome.In summertime Venice had somehow returned to what it once was many years ago. Without crowds of tourists poured through the narrow streets and the cruise ships that monstrously invaded the lagoon, the silent canals could finally breath and the golden beach of the Lido was peacefully in harmony with the sea. Rome,in late spring and fall, looked like certain sunny summers when the city empties itself for holidays and the sultry heat. Only few people going around along the streets or in empty squares.
Born and grew up in Italy, rooted in a background in Geography and a life spent traveling across remote regions of the globe my photography explores the quiet dignity of people and places far from the spotlight.Inspired by the Humanist photographers of the 20th century,I focus on everyday life, cultural narratives and the unseen impacts of mass tourism. As a documentary and street photographer,I use the camera as both a research tool and a means of connection capturing intimate moments,my work is an ongoing exploration of humanity, change and the fragile balance between preservation and progress
