The two Fallera Mayor of Falla Convento meet for the last fitting before the Fallas festival. The Fallas is a celebration in commemoration of Saint Joseph in the city of Valencia,Spain. One of the most important customs of the Fallas is the role of the fallera—a woman elected to represent her own neighbourhood. Being a fallera is a commitment;most begin their careers as early as birth. Each neighbourhood has a Fallera Mayor, the ‘Queen’ of their group, and a Fallera Mayor Infantil, for younger girls. This is a big honour but also a huge expense for the family.Their costumes are astonishing in beauty.
