This series depicts the spaces of Taichung City Hall, built in 1913, designed by Japanese architect Moriyama Matsunosuke (森山松之助, 1869-1949), which is a national heritage today. The Hall was getting old and had been modified heavily with time, but you can still feel its aesthetic quality of the spaces. By photographing the building without concealing any current situation, I finally understood that what I was looking for was actually the phantoms of Moriyama Matsunosuke remaining in the spaces of Taichung City Hall. Perhaps for Moriyama, these images are the phantoms from the future, too.

Juang Mu-En is a photographer from Taiwan, he always tries to explore the deeper places of the city.
