A Nenet granny at the annual Reindeer Festival in Yar-Sale, Siberia, showcasing a beautiful handmade reindeer hooded hat trimmed with fox tail. Nenets are a traditional nomadic reindeer herding community in northern Siberia. Their migration route takes them across the frozen river of Ob each year, where their reindeer seek out greener pastures in the harsh winter. At the annual Reindeer Festival, they get a chance to meet with relatives and friends, many of whom they may not have seen in a long time given their different migration routes.
