Glass Jar

  • Photographer
    William Ye

This body of work depicts my struggle with the current state of the world. Global pandemic, isolation, and pressure of seeking a stable income source have fueled a pessimistic outlook. The inspiration of this work came from Picasso's Guernica and Salvador Dali. To create the distorted and abstract human forms, I shot through several different glass jars. I found glass jars quite symbolic. They project rainbows under the sun, but when looking through them in the dark, without glaring on their surfaces, you see a distorted world; a perfect analogy for my daily facet, and internal struggle.
