In the UK, councils warned of the possibility of large numbers of people becoming homeless as a result of a loss of income during the coronavirus crisis. I wanted to show what life was like during lockdown for those already living rough on London’s streets. I spent four weeks photographing and talking to the homeless community in the capital, each had their own story to tell. There were 8,555 rough sleepers in the capital in 2018/19, according to the Office for National Statistics. During the lockdown only 1,000 were offered a room in a hotel.
