Peru’. Ancash. Among the mountains of the Cordillera of the Andes, at 3500 /4500 meters above sea level, there are people who live in isolation, far more kilometers from the village 'neighbor, who for different reasons have found themselves alone, helpless, sick and forgotten by the world. the family have left many years ago this place, to seek his fortune in the big cities, but they never came back The only hope is the help of volunteers , once a week , walking for kilometers and hours, to visit this peoples and bring them help, food, medicine, basic necessities and a little bit of company. Most of their don’t speak spanish, only the Quechua, the ancient language of inca’s empire. These pictures, were taken on different days of this aid, and represent these people, in their small huts, among them small things, with their typical clothes, traditions and their proud faces marked by the sun, working in the fields and the hard life in high mountains. These images are an excerpt of a very long work, a reportage named “Not so Alone” realized in three different journey in Peru’, walking for kilometers in altitude to reach these needy people who live isolated. Here i present just the portraits of these men, women and child, because i think as the first impact, the most 'expressive way to tell this story is through their expression.
