This is a serie of Venice made over the years 2023 and 2024. Ik wanted to portray this majestic city as I perceive it. Not filled with tourists, but in all its peace and quiet as you can still discover the city in the early mornings. The climate change will one day cause the sea to reclaim the city, the city is always battling against the high tides and flooding. Still it is probably the most romantic, majestic city in the world and I wanted to capture the essence of it before it is too late.

I am a photographer based in Landsmeer, The Netherlands. I have with a great interest in minimalistic landscape and architectural photography. Although I have been trainend professionally as a photographer, I earn my income in healthcare. Photography is, for me, a form of escapism in the hectic and busy world around us. By focussing on a minimalistic composition I try to find calm and balance in the frame and in my my own mind.
