The power is going out in Cuba due to a severe energy crisis caused by a lack of fuel for power plants and the obsolescence of its electrical infrastructure, which suffers frequent breakdowns. The state-run infrastructure, decades behind due to a lack of investment, cannot meet the growing demand, and there is no foreign currency to import the fuel needed for its operation.
