In September 2024, tens of thousands of southward-migrating swallows in Austria and Hungary died due to the cold surge of Cyclone Boris, causing a population decline. All the birds were forced to land by the cyclone. By the fourth day, they could no longer feed, were completely frozen, weakened, and literally dying. The pictures were taken at Lake Balaton, where swallows resting on electric wires drew the notes of a sheet of music on the sky. Teddy Harpo was fascinated and turned the melody that the birds had drawn in the sky into a real score. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KjUBzzh_44
