This photograph captures the dynamic energy and remarkable physical abilities of cats. It features jumping scenes of my two cats over the course of a year. Even a simple "cat jump" has countless variations—leaping upward, pausing midair, or landing after a descent—and no two are ever exactly alike. I hope these images convey the preciousness of each fleeting moment.

I am a cat photographer based on Tashiro Island, a famous cat island in Miyagi Prefecture Japan. While there, I became friends with the islanders and received two kittens from a shelter on the island. I am currently taking care of them and photographing their daily growth. My cats, who are wild children themselves, are running around our house today with full of energy.
