Identity is the digital vision of a woman, emerging from experimental analogue photography of the 1990s, created through the interplay of light, chemical processes, and early digital image editing on the Mac, pushing the boundaries of analogue photography. In dialogue with generative AI, the work becomes a visual narrative that interweaves analogue, digital, and algorithmic processes, engaging with questions of cultural imagination in the present.
Anke Neugebauer’s artistic practice explores the intersections of photography, documentary strategies, and digital image processes. Trained at the Lette Verein Berlin and further refined at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), she investigates visual spaces where documentary observation, aesthetic condensation, and media-based transformation intertwine.
