I took this image inside Dafni, a discontinued psychiatric hospital in Athens. Shafts of coloured light emerge through a door that is ajar, a spontaneous moment that she captured when exploring the historic hospital. I was interested in the symbol of the doorway, a threshold between confinement and freedom, and its significance within this specific context.. For me light is a representation of hope, something that goes beyond both physical and psychological barriers. The image represents my personal journey for freedom.
