“Tierras Yermas” (Badlands) project does not intend to be a snapshot of the present, nor that in the future it will function as a documentary memory of the past. The purpose of this essay is to portray an arid and desert future that is getting closer and closer at the current pace of environmental destruction. This discomforting project was photographed in 2022 in the Iberian Peninsula, combining photographs of geological formations naturally eroded over millions of years with desertification spots that are resulting in similar landscapes just in a scale of decades.
