I was fascinated by the characteristics of the red cabbage leaves, with their furrows, waves and folds, as well as the fine surface texture. I find it amazing how diverse the different leaves of a head of cabbage are and how varied nature once again presents itself.
I learned my photographic craft from the photographer and filmmaker Valentin Schwab. Over the last years I increasingly have abstracted my visual language. In my current work, I use abstract photographs to explore the representation of the subliminal, the ineffable, and the ephemeral.
