If you want the 'FILM LOOK' LUT, shoot on FILM! The message of these photographs is simple, in today's fast paced life, shooting on film is like hitting the pause button. It encourages you to think before you press the shutter. Instead of mindless snapshotting, shooting on film brings a sense of calm. This series of photographs was created to study the colour and contrast you could get on this particular film roll. The idea began by placing the subject in white against the blue sky but as the evening progressed we managed to get some stunning backlit shots with halation and flare!
Ankita Asthana grew up in Tamil Nadu, trained as an architect at NIT Nagpur and went on to NID Ahmedabad before photography became her truest language. In 2013 she co-founded WeddingNama in Mumbai with her husband Akash Agarwal, building a documentary studio that takes on only a handful of weddings a year. Her architect's eye shapes how she reads light and space, but she shoots on instinct, staying quiet and invisible until the unguarded moment arrives. A Nikon Brand Ambassador and TEDx speaker, she also mentors young photographers through WeddingNama School.
