The pictures are part of my project called 'Forgotten'. I have visited many abondoned villages in Rhodope Mountains in Bulgaria. The villages are very remote, and in them live between 1 and 15 people. The villages are located in very beutiful areas. The access to the villages is not easy especially the last 5-10km. I wanted to answer myself why these people continue to live in these areas, when they simply are disconnected from the civilazation. And found the answer in their reply to my question: 'We have lived here our whole life, and we will stay here untill we die'.
