Artistic swimming is a very difficult sport. When I was photographing the international championship in Olomouc, 21st to 23rd April 2023, I noticed the full concentration of the swimmer while she was waiting for the start of her peperformance. I sat down on the edge of the swimming pool, framed the shot, focused and took some pictures. The combination of the light atmosphere, the concentration of this swimmer, and the fact that the swimmer was standing next to the cube with the number “one” gave me an idea of how she imagines and hopes to be on the podium.
