In the Forbidden Fruit project, I want to discuss and raise issues related to femininity, being a woman, gender roles, equality, sexuality and bodily self-determination. The series consists of a series of vulvae made of different fruits, vegetables and greens, reflecting on the one hand the diversity of femininity and our sexuality and, on the other hand, bringing to light the issues that we are used to keeping hidden and silenced. Women's sexuality and genitalia have long been hidden, associated with shame and a taste of forbidden fruit.
nniina Joki Master of Arts, 2014, University of Rovaniemi, Finland I am a Finnish photographer and teacher based in Zurich. With my art, I want to take a stand and highlight social issues that concern me, while at the same time sharing the inner landscapes of my mind and the beauty I perceive around me. My photography moves between critical reflection and poetic observation, aiming to make the invisible visible.
