When I entered the Barabashovo market of Kharkiv in Ukraine in April 2022, instead of a busy and lively scene, I found mannequins blanketing the floor in one of the shops. The sound of artillery was in the background. My mind returned to the Church of St. Andrew Pervozvannoho in Bucha, where many people found dead have been buried in a mass grave. The following photo series results from personal research through war landscapes channeled into a sequence that recalls atrocities against civilians. It also shows the resistance of the Ukrainian people as the Russian aggression continues.
