This series is inspired by inserting myself into history that has wiped my existence, my people’s existence, off the map. I created images from the 1960s onward representing men of those times. Trans men of those times. Who I could’ve been at those times. The images' titles are headlines I imagined each man reading in the paper. It feels as if every day I’m reading about trans success and oppression, all while living my own life of trans joy and sorrow — this has been true for everyone who walked this path. Their existence was resistance. My existence is resistance. We have always been here.
