Psychodramas In A Miniature World

    Grace Weston

As an artist working in the genre of staged photography, I construct, light, and photograph miniature, staged vignettes in my studio to address the questions and contradictions of life. Despite the fact that I never depict actual humans in my photographs, people and the human psyche are undeniably at the center of my work. This portfolio submission includes images from two series. Ten images are from "Short Stories/Tall Tales", and the following ten are from a Noir series I call "The Long Night". As you will see, one series is lighter, the other darker, in more ways than one.

Grace Weston has gained international recognition for her imaginative staged narrative photography combining humor and psychological tension in miniature dramas infused with perplexity, mystery, humor, or the sense of absurdity found in daily living. Her award-winning artwork has been shown in numerous exhibitions and publications around the globe, and is held in many public and private collections. Grace has also been commissioned to create work in her signature style for magazines, book covers, CDs and posters.
