“The Skin I’m In - II” Carol Mayer knows all about being near death and enduring the long agony and recovery from massive burns incurred in a house fire over a decade ago. Her family were told she would not survive. Following a harrowing and agonising year of skin grafts and operations she did survive albeit massively scarred. Carol now gives her time to help and burns victims and assist burns foundations. She sees my portrait as a vehicle to embolden those who have also had their lives changed by burns. Carol has long grown accustomed to “The Skin I’m In’.
