In Currimao, the northern Philippines, the sound of chainsaw echoes with the fear that the extreme heat will escalate, as trees are being cut down for a solar panel development. The power plant is now an incubator of extreme heat and climate change, threatening the costal town that is already prone to typhoon, rising sea level, sandstorms and floods. Victims of tree-cutting include the 73-year-old Leonardo, whose wife died of heart attack, which is said to be linked to the extreme heat. They now live with the pain of losing their beloved timberland and suffer a hotter weather.
