This photograph was a personal project created in my studio using 4 speedlights and color gels. It represents a "Dorlis", a mystical creature of Caribbean culture. It's body bewitches men and makes them disappear in the dark night. The mysterious character appears in a dreamlike abstract universe full of colors. It's an allegory of the power of body over our contemporary way of thinking which sanctifies beauty and demystifies the body.

Grégory Jacquelin is a young artist working on the expression of the body (both female and male) in its simplest device through dreamlike decorations from "emotional paintings" inspired by the subject photographed. The image, almost shy, plays with sensuality and subtlety, and is intended to be far from any vulgarity. He multiplies techniques with one objective : to gradually get rid of cognitive biases (gender, ethnicity, social status, age...) in order to appreciate a character laid bare in the beauty of his true self.
