Time and memory have been something to continually fight for me, as well as for every conscious human being. The time that we count in our memory is not the same as a common clock, our memory tends to save that has marked us in one way or another, even a moment that has happened long ago can be remembered as recent or vice versa, as it happens in dreams, then do we live in a long dream? from which one day we wake up being even wiser and happier? Tempus is the representation of this magnitude as a liquid that makes us muddy and vanishes in our hands and we cannot grasp it.

Diana Rubi is a young photographer born in Cuba and currently a US resident. She graduated in the specialty of digital art at the Cuban Academy of Fine Arts San Alejandro. Her work outside and inside the academy were video and photo manipulation. Migrating to the US was undoubtedly the great step to discover her true interest in conceptual self-portrait, this being a method of self-knowledge and experimentation, an escape from reality to another world through which to express herself freely.
