Falconry in Qatar is considered a main sport, as popular as football in Italy. It is bound to the ancient Bedouin’s traditional hunt, as it began over 5.000 years ago, but it is also strictly related to the modern taste for beauty and luxury, as a falcon could worth several thousands of euros. A falcon is a weapon trained as an athlete for hunting festivals, or a jewel modelled as a sculpture by his master. This picture was taken during the most important falcons beauty contest of the country.
