This series of nine photographs capture reflections on glass or mirrors while strolling through city streets or observing inside public buildings. I am drawn to the ambiguity that reflections create, particularly when they are semi-transparent, blending layers and dissolving the usual sense of depth. These images explore the overlapping of objects and spaces, where reality and reflection merge, creating a visually intriguing narrative that challenges perception.
Photography is more than an art form to Jean-Marc — it’s also a tool for understanding, structuring, and simplifying the world around him. In his street photography, Jean-Marc enjoys capturing candid moments that are interesting, funny, or have the viewer ask questions. He likes American contemporary photographer Alec Soth’s wording of the key ingredients: Light, Moment, and Magic. While street photography remains his central focus, Jean-Marc's work expands to other genres. However, the human element is a connecting thread in all his photography.
