I spent 4 days inside the Læknishúsið shelter at the end of March while a snow storm raged outside to photograph the Arctic fox. Two blue arctic foxes with brown coats wandered around the house attracted by the smell of food. Every time I saw it I went out under the snow and lying on the ground I waited for it to pass nearby to take some shots. The arctic fox withstands temperatures as low as 50 degrees below zero. Its coat adapts to the environment: the populations living along the fjords of the islands have a dark brown coat all year round and a little lighter in winter to blend in along the
