On my first vacation in Iceland I had perfect conditions at Kirkjufell: lively northern lights over a snow-covered landscape. Today I'm not sure whether a bright moon was shining back then or whether the northern lights were simply very bright, but I was able to take photos with ISO 800. Unfortunately I didn't have a very good camera back then and the pictures were very noisy. Also, the colors in the picture weren't what they should be - the lights were more blue than green. That was the reason why I switched to full format at the time. And since then I've been hunting the Northern Lights...

Hello, I'm Judith... I would like to call myself an “ambitious amateur photographer”. My main focus is nature and landscape photography, but I also like to make detours to other genres. Everything I know about photography is self-educated. A few books here, some internet research there, inspiration from the works of other photographers and a lot, really a lot of trying things out has brought me to where I am today. My great happiness is my home on beautiful Lake Constance, where I have a lot of photo spots right on my doorstep and the way to the Austrian, Swiss and Italian Alps is not too far.
