Scars is a large-format photographic series in which I utilize my body to communicate the idea of embracing oneself by examining imperfections and vulnerabilities to perceive them as life lessons and evidence of survival. Using skills in lighting & studio photography, I provide a clinical touch. I use a medium format camera to capture remarkable detail of my scars. Taking a closer look at the texture of my skin and scars on various spots of my body, giving the viewers different viewpoints is also an experiment to communicate the message of self-love and worthiness.

Natcha Wongchanglaw, a Thailand-born, US-based visual artist, explores themes of home, culture, community, and identity in her work, incorporating her own experiences. Her work has been featured in national and international exhibitions, including The Presidio in San Francisco, LensCulture New York 2022, and the RPS International Photography Exhibition 164 in the United Kingdom, where she was awarded the IPE. She's also a winner of Nikon Photo Contest 2022-2023.
